Bob Lanser

LCSW

Bob is a Hawaii-licensed clinical social worker and currently serves as the Manager of Maui Crisis Services, a program array procured by the Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD). Since 2006, Bob has led and supervised crisis intervention, outreach, case management, and clinical services for high-need individuals across Maui County. Programs and teams designed to serve individuals who are unhoused, legally involved, or living with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Bob has played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of a wide range of critical mental health services across the county. These services include Crisis Mobile Outreach (for both adults and youth), the Licensed Crisis Residential Program, Crisis Support Services, and intensive case management for residents facing acute mental health challenges.

His approach includes:

  • Delivering trauma-informed, person-centered care to individuals with complex psychiatric and social needs.

  • Building responsive systems of care in collaboration with law enforcement, courts, hospitals, and community partners.

  • Prioritizing rapid access to crisis care and continuity of services—ensuring that vulnerable individuals don’t fall through the cracks.

  • Advocating for and developing services that meet people where they are—whether in the community, on the street, or in the legal system.

  • Drawing on over 15 years of clinical and administrative experience to supervise and support a diverse, multidisciplinary team.

Bob is deeply committed to improving access to compassionate, high-quality care for all people—especially those who are often overlooked.
